MACRO-ECONOMICS SHOULD NEVER BE DESCRIBED WITH AN EQUATION
It is very tempting for a certain sort of person to want to describe human behavior as a set of defined variables. AX-B=C sort of thing where changing any one of the variables changes the whole equation. The problem is that human actors do not behave in this way. People behave in a much more linear fashion. A leads to B leads to C. See also Cargo Cults.
MY PREFERENCE
I prefer peace and freedom over law and order. Most people seem to prefer the latter. Order uber alles would be their cry if they could simplify enough. Suck it up people. You cannot comprehend all the complexities of any system. Attempting to do so will result in unforeseen consequences.

WHY DON’T YOU JUST MOVE TO ANOTHER COUNTRY?
This argument in no way addresses the legitimacy of the government function in question. Because you have the capacity to leave does not address the fundamental issue. I could move to a lower crime neighborhood, and that may be prudent, but it doesn’t justify the crimes committed against me.
WHY ANARCHY SEEMS SO SILLY
Statists, and by that I mean most people, are confused by the concept of anarchy because it is so far removed from the status quo. People say things like ” the government gives us roads, schools, police, wars, firemen and stuff” without realizing that doesn’t preclude the concept of eliminating other functions of government.

TSA
It is quite distressing to see how many people buy in to the idea that tsa security measures are enhancing “security”. They believe that they are sacrificing a little liberty for safety. A ma jor problem with this is what a narrow part of their lives they securing. Given locked and armed cockpits the most damage a terrorist could do would be to kill the small number og people on a plane. Given that, why bother with an airplane? A bus or line at disneyland would do. (Please note that the wtc was an unexpected dissaster. It is not possible for anyone to have predicted that the towers woukd have collapsed. And oh yeah, locked cockpits.). So no, we can pretty much do away with security at airports ( bomb sniffing dogs probably give a good roi), we are nit made safer even with x-raying carry ons.

WHY WELFARE DOESN’T HELP
Whenever someone receives something from the pool of scarce resources without contributing something, the result is that everyone is made poorer. The path to wealth is creation, not depletion.
PRICE ESCALATION
Prices can only rise as the ability to pay them exists. If the price of a product/service rises beyond the capacity of consumers to pay, than the price/quality must fall or the product will become unavailable.
EMPLOYER PROVIDED HEALTH CARE
Statist proposal: rather than requiring employers to provide health care, forbid employers to provide health care. What would happen?
JUST LAWS
A just law exists absent the codification in the legal system. Once you accept the concept that laws should only be obeyed if they are just, than you accept the idea that codified laws are only of limited utility.
DEPRESSION
I believe that we are in a depression. This is covered by a few thoughts 1) we are wealthier overall as compared to the previous depression so that the drop in wealth does not result in people literally starving to death although the general drop in wealth may be the same as the great depression. 2) inflation (increase in money supply) is occurring one way or another. Deficit spending can only be an increase in functional money supply. I believe that this is currently being masked by deflation that is not currently occurring due to the increased money supply. 3) Capital investment is clearly reduced “depressed” as compared to any “stable” period.
A HEALTHY ECONOMY
Is when as many people as possible are doing things that other people value. Uncertainties about the future cause people to more carefully assess what things they most value and to reject things of marginal value. Creating as certain a future as possible, even if the general outlook may be worse, allows people to maximize their expenditures (positive valuations of other peoples efforts).
Legislation with future enacting dates that may have great functional impact will cause people to naturally wait until the effects are known, thus forestalling any positive behavior.
Knowledge of a positive future = healthy economy, present and future
Knowledge of a negative future = reduced economy present, maximized economy within the circumstances future
Uncertain knowledge of future = minimal economy present, less than fully maximized future

WHAT IS SEEN AND WHAT IS NOT SEEN
WASHINGTON — The White House on Wednesday issued new rules requiring health insurance companies to provide free coverage for dozens of screenings, laboratory tests and other types of preventive care.
So clearly there is no reason for the cost of “insurance” to go up. What with the mandatory spending on things their customers were not previously using. I’m sure doctors won’t say, “this test is free and it might save your life” in order to get the payment for a service not particularly desired. The “health care” advocates will say that this will save money because of the preventive care. If only there was data to support that idea instead of the opposite.
AS LONG AS WE HAVE THIS THING THAT I DON’T WANT
Then I will support this other disagreeable policy. I continue to maintain that anyone who opposed to immigration but also opposed to welfare is racist, economically ignorant, or both. Never mind that the data fails to support the idea that immigrants are a net welfare drain, even if they were, why would you oppose immigration if you also opposed welfare? Wouldn’t the simpler approach be to simply stop the welfare? And don’t even try the “it’s the law” approach. http://www.dumblaws.com
