I’d really like to see some genuine bipartisanship in America. But that can’t happen until we start having at least somewhat sane partisans.

By sane, he means more like his version of what the democrats should be doing. Why call for bipartisanship when you don’t really want to entertain other viewpoints? Have the balls to say that you don’t think there should be another party, even in the lip service they’re providing now.

Update: He also says,

I’m as cynical as they come. Even so, I’m shocked by the total intellectual collapse of the Republican Party in the face of this economic crisis.

What collapse is he talking about? If anything the republicans are giving lip service again to their actual supposed ideals. Except, of course, he’s thinking about all that delightful wartime spending they’ve been doing that he thinks is useful to the economy. Wanker.
