As far as I can tell, the only “benefit” to nationalization is that the federal government can now take direct responsibility for the organization it absorbs. Which means practically that it can now pump it with money whenever it considers it necessary. Given that if government can do a thing, it it almost certainly will, isn’t it safer to keep some sort of check in spending? As in keeping a nominal separation of entities? Hear me now, nationalization will create spigots of money that will help no one.
